The Prosp(a)rity Project is a nonprofit with a mission of helping Black women overcome financial disparity while resolving the $2T student debt crisis. Through our flagship 35*2 Free Initiative, which entails awarding Black women with private student loan relief up to $10K, financial coaching and career development resources, we envision a world in which their prosp(a)rity (prosperity x parity) is no longer an aspiration, but the standard. In this world, Black women are thriving financially—no longer at the mercy of the crippling albatross of an estimated $35B in student debt or lack of access to financial education resources—which allows them to enjoy levels of socioeconomic independence, access and success like never before. As we've grown, our work has expanded to entail a comprehensive, root-focused solution spectrum, outlined through our innovative 3 "I"s framework: #1: Interception The H.I.R.E. vs. Higher Initiative: Educating high-school-age youth on post-secondary options for reducing debt and increasing income #2: Intervention The 35*2 Free Initiative: Awarding retroactive scholarships, financial coaching, and career development to debt-overwhelmed, college educated Black women #3: Interference The Prosp(a)rity through Clarity Initiative: Educating corporate teams on both issues and garnering their support toward achieving resolution
