JIKI - Compassion . Generosity . Fairness
www.jikifoundation.orgJIKI stands for “Jesus is King”. It is non-denominational. The greatest event in human history is the “Good News” regarding Him! It is no accident we live in a world of increasing darkness, hate, poverty, helplessness, war and division. Many have become accepting of this as natural or inevitable; but that is not the case. We have been given the most powerful weapon of all – LOVE! Vision statement The viewpoint of most people today is that “for millions of people life on this earth is very difficult. Day after day they face sickness and sadness, poverty and hunger, disappointment and frustration, dishonesty and injustice...No one is totally beyond the reach of failures and frustrations, floods and storms, disease and death... All this leads many people to wonder is this really all there is to life? Will things always be this way? Is there no hope for the future?” Our response to this view is a different vision: the vision of hope, love, joy, fun, growth, laughter, and happiness – social justice. The vision we strive to project is the vision of Light. Even the smallest sliver of light can dispel the greatest darkness! Love is the greatest light and God has placed “His Light” into the world. It holds the line against the dark. We project His Light by uplifting, educating, and serving through the power of love. Mission statement Our call to arms is social change, activism, social justice, and environmental sustainability. These are all ideas of what's important to the Light. But ultimately, it can be summed up this way: To hold the line against the dark... by demonstrating compassion, generosity, and fairness to whomever and wherever it takes us! Values Compassion – Social and cultural norms are changing and with those changes is the way we feel toward another who is stricken by misfortune. Our deep sense of sorrow and sympathy produces a strong desire to alleviate the suffering through the development of compassionate and enlightening programs, as well as caring leadership. Generosity we aspire to liberally and lavishly deliver freedom from meanness and malice or from smallness of mind or character. Our view is that mutual respect, trust, genuine affection, and gratitude in conjunction with imagination, ideation, and innovation are the keys to “Light-Valued” Relationships. Fairness – We will do what’s right, especially when no-one is looking. It is cemented on Integrity, Honesty, and Earnestness.
