Founded in 2004, West Houston Leadership Institute is an experiential leadership and learning program designed to provide participants with a breadth of knowledge concerning healthcare, transportation, education, diversity, government, business and many areas of life in West Houston. West Houston is leading the way. We are building a foundation for our residents and businesses to thrive not just today, but in the future. Our belief is that such a foundation is built with common core values, goals, and strategic teamwork. Through our mutual education and understanding of the issues before us, we can shape West Houston’s future. WHLI is about convening, promoting and connecting. We convene a class of 25-30 each year that promotes leadership by connecting with civic leaders on issues that impact West Houston. Our mission is to build a committed, informed, and engaged core of community leaders to care for West Houston.
