Laser Group Australia Pty Ltd are the Australian franchisor of the award winning Laser Business system. Trading as Laser Electrical and Laser Plumbing, Laser Group are the leading Electrical and Plumbing contracting network across Australia and New Zealand Founded in Auckland, New Zealand in 1983 by electricians, Peter Bassett and David Clemmett, the Laser Group is now recognised as Australia and New Zealand’s largest plumbing and electrical network. Redeveloping their business model and launching the Laser Electrical franchise system in 1999, the electricians worked to create a value-based model for like-minded electrical businesses, based on customer service and strong systems and, by 2003, the Laser business model became a full membership business model. In 2004, Laser Group expanded into Australia and in 2006 Laser Plumbing was launched in both New Zealand and Australia, using the same model that had seen the business with multiple awards including the New Zealand Supreme Franchise Industry Award in 2005 and 2006. With 250 Members across Australia and New Zealand, the success of the Laser Group and the nationwide coverage that they provide captured the attention of Belron, a worldwide leader in vehicle glass repair and replacement. In 2018, Laser Plumbing & Electrical began the next chapter of their story, becoming a part of Belron family through its subsidiaries O’Brien Australia and Smith&Smith New Zealand.
