The Friends of Seva Mandir is a UK registered charity based in the UK that operates solely to raise funds to support the work of Seva Mandir in Rajasthan, India. Our vision is to make a long term, sustainable improvement in the lives of the men, women and children of Southern Rajasthan The Friends of Seva Mandir UK : - Raises funds in the UK to support the work of Seva Mandir in Rajasthan - Ensures that every penny of funds raised will go to Seva Mandir to be used for the purposes for which it is intended - Keeps supporters of Seva Mandir informed of news, projects and developments in Rajasthan on a regular basis - Acts at all times according to the values of Seva Mandir Did you know that: - More people live in extreme poverty in India than in Africa. - About 400 million in India live below the poverty line – 75% of them in rural areas. - Nearly 70% of the population live on less than $2 per day. Seva Mandir works with the most disadvantaged in this population – almost half from tribal groups. These are often neglected by government and other NGOs. Public services are often non-existent or ineffective. It works in some 600 villages and towns in Rajasthan, India – helping the most disadvantaged there to cope with extreme poverty, degraded land and a worsening climate. It fosters lasting changes in health, education, child development, water, sanitation, and sustainable use of natural resources.
