The Ocean Nexus Center is a UW EarthLab initiative in collaboration with The Nippon Foundation working to transform our relationship with oceans. We aim to transform ocean governance so the oceans benefit everyone equitably in a culturally relevant manner. We strive to develop evidence-based policies for a sustainable and equitable ocean and society by: Creating new fellowship programs to build the next generation of ocean science leaders. Enabling multi-partner research teams to work together to develop tailored solutions. Building capacity for an innovative ocean network. Mastering effective science communication to inform decision-makers.
