Born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1983, Travis Ekmark is, arguably, not dead. Ekmark has worked as a paper pusher, a shoe salesman, a sandwich guy, a barista, a wholesaler, a writer, pen and ink illustrator, ‘kitschy’ object designer, design ‘curator,’ graphic designer, consultant, and small business owner. He is a former partner at Family Brothers, the design agency he co-founded in 2012. He currently practices design independently, working with a small group of clients and agencies on branding, strategy, and product alike. Ekmark has produced work referred to as “whimsical” (lol) by The New York Times. Bon Appetit described Family Brothers as “the designers behind all the coolest restaurant stuff.” Monocle said, “[loves] energy drinks,” and “self-deprecating and endowed with a dry sense of humor.”
