Company structure is a sole proprietorship, woman-owned business. Kimberly Jones, Ph.D. is the founder/CSO and currently has two active research sites in Brunswick and Bladen Counties. Alganomics works to make a significant difference in our community, state, and nation to becoming more environmentally responsible/sustainable and self sufficient within the biofuels industry. The business operates to produce reliable, environmentally responsible, natural and renewable bioproducts from algal sources, and to promote the use of renewable energy alternatives. All of our funding has come through grants or subcontracts of grants. Alganomics is currently working with the City of Southport, in order to start a renewable energy and mariculture center at a closed wastewater treatment facility. Southport’s SMART (Sustainable Mariculture And Renewable Technologies) Enterprise will focus green business incubation, as well as research and development in renewable resources.
