Cultivate Union is a community non-profit organization committed to deepening the impact of yoga and meditation in Atlanta. Our work promoted access, sustainability and equity within the yoga community. The work that we do is through yoga, but what we're interested in is much bigger than yoga. We believe that yoga is one of the most democratic tools at our disposal for improving overall health and wellbeing, and that all persons can access the benefits of this practice. Our current programs include financial assistance for yoga instructors to complete specialized trainings so that they may serve with even more skill and care. As of December 2017, we have provided 22 teachers with opportunities for professional development. In addition, we provide trauma informed yoga to marginalized communities in partnership with MercyCare, City of Refuge and Trinity House. Currently, we offer weekly classes to women and men experiencing hardships ranging from homelessness to exiting the human sex trafficking industry.
