Ben Larrabee Photography LLC
www.benlarrabee.comMy goal is to be authentic and honest, not merely different. This approach is based on letting go of expectations and assumptions about how people should look or behave. I move beyond formal poses and pretenses in order to use the photographic experience as a way of finding truth and connection. The work is not about my camera. I really want the camera to disappear, so my subjects act naturally and express their spirit, as well as their love for one another. I am dedicated as an artist to recognize and record those fleeting yet memorable glimpses of life that we take for granted – family moments experienced but rarely revealed in photographs. I call them Moments of Grace®. It’s when two and two equals five: people coming together to create a whole that is infinitely greater than the sum of its parts. This art is about the family and for the home. We advise clients before, during and after the session, along with the installation of their Larrabee family portraits. Our clients know that the photographs they purchase will become heirlooms to pass on to their children. While based in Darien, Connecticut, we work worldwide. My muse, wife Trudie, is my partner in the practice. We are a team. Trudie oversees client relations, marketing and operations. My photographs are in the permanent collections of: The Museum of Modern Art, New York The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston The High Museum, Atlanta The George Eastman House, Rochester. Specialties: In addition to family portraits, I also photograph landscapes and nudes. Now scheduling summer and fall. www.benlarrabee.com studio@benlarrabee.com 203.656.3807
