SonoAsh

www.sonoash.com

SonoAsh has developed 6 granted patents around our ability to upcycle the waste coal ash into a matrix of high value products. The largest fraction is a low carbon cement replacement product ideal for high performance applications and particularly suited to marine. Other products include, carbon abrasives, artificial sand as well as rare earths and strategic metal recovery. Virgin cement production is responsible for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions. There is a 1:1 relationship between tonnes of cement and tonnes of CO2. The demand for cement in the next 50 years is staggering and estimated to exceed 4 billion tonnes annually by 2050. Without low carbon cement alternatives, the Paris Accord carbon reduction mandates will be unachievable. The shift towards Net Zero 2050 carbon mandates in infrastructure requires new thinking on the role of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs). SCMs have proven a key ingredient for mega projects like the World Trade Center Complex in New York and the Confederation Bridge in Prince Edward Island among many others. There are billions of tonnes of waste coal ash in storage around the globe. SonoAsh’ patented, low-frequency sound separation technology processes waste coal ash into decarbonized SCM building products.
