Founded in 1898 - A National Registered ' Not for Profit' Industry Employer Association. MGA Independent Retailers represents independent grocery, liquor and timber & hardware store owners and operators in all States and Territories of Australia; trading under brand names such as; Drakes, FoodWorks, Foodland, Friendly Grocers, IGA, Michaels, Ritchies, SPAR, Supa IGA, Bottlemart, Cellarbrations, Ritchies, The Bottle-O, Mitre 10, Dahlsens and various independents. MGA's role is to support employers with areas of their business that they may not have the time, money or resources to focus on. We provide the following ‘back of house’ support services to members: - Legal and HR Services - Training - Advocacy and Representation - Community - Member Benefits MGA’s 2,700 members employ over 115,000 full time, part-time and casual staff, representing more than $15 billion in retail sales. Many MGA members are small family businesses, employing 25 or fewer staff. Our Objective - to be a highly respected national industry organisation led by an inspired and aligned high performing team. Our Vision - a robust, competitive and profitable independent retailer and business sector. Our Mission - to deliver support services that enhance members' business health and prosperity.
