Gibson Shield
www.gibson-shield.comPaul Gibson, founder of Gibson Motorsports, has always been a passionate car driver and as such takes great pride in the cars that he owns. He found that when cleaning his cars they were susceptible to the elements and exposed to the risks of being scratched. With many car detailing products on the market, Paul is experienced in what works and what doesn’t but in the end the results of the products that are currently available, over a long period of time, weren’t up to his standards. If you want a job done right, do it yourself. As such, Paul set his sights on innovating his own product that protects cars for an extended period of time, Gibson Shield. As the founder of Gibson Motorsports, Paul had a fleet of race cars, including a Mclaren GT3 650s and Lola T70 MK3Bs, that could be used as his testing specimens throughout his research. After applying the ceramic coating nanotechnology to his vehicles, he put them through rigorous testing by competing in the GT3 cups throughout Europe. This allowed Paul to gain valuable insight as to the effectiveness of his products due to the extreme conditions that the bodywork of race cars go through whilst competing. The research had amazing results and even after a full season of racing, the car’s paintwork was still gleaming. The positive results that were generated from Paul’s research, he decided that it was time to apply his products to his own personal cars. The nanotechnology present within Gibson Shield’s ceramic coating creates a protective layer on the top coat of the car’s paint. Ceramic coating fills in troughs that the dirt would usually get trapped in and covers the piece. This makes it a much smoother surface so that dirt can’t adhere in the same way it would do on an uncoated surface, allowing the cleaning of a vehicle to be fast and efficient with jet washing, snow foam and microfibre cloths. Ceramic coating, unlike polishes, last longer and offer better protection to the paint, minimising scratching.
