The Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS) is responsible for coordinating programs to provide public assistance to children and their parents, access to health care, child support enforcement assistance and to provide specialized assistance to troubled youth. While many programs give needed financial assistance and services, other units work toward reducing financial dependency of the citizens on government. The Department of Social Services includes the following program and administrative divisions: - Children's Division - Family Support Division - MO HealthNet Division - Division of Youth Services - Division of Finance and Administrative Services - Division of Legal Services - Missouri Medicaid Audit & Compliance Unit Mission: We will lead the nation in building the capacity of individuals, families, and communities to secure and sustain healthy, safe, and productive lives.
