The Avon Police Department was established in 1996. The department's jurisdiction encompasses over 250 lane miles and serves a population of approximately 17,500 residents. The police department is staffed with 26 merit officers, and an administrative staff that includes an Administrative Assistant and Detective Aide. The Police Department is led by Chief Sean Stoops and Assistant Chief Brian Nugent.
