Being There is a Greater Manchester based charity offering emotional support and practical assistance to people living with cancer and other life-limiting illness, their carers and families. Volunteers are vital to the Being There operation helping to provide a range of tailored local services such as befriending, respite sitting, listening to concerns, support for hospital appointments and 'drop ins'. Being There volunteers are recruited, trained and managed by professional staff based in offices across Greater Manchester, together providing a cost effective, quality service. In 2016 Being There launched a new service supporting people with cancer and other life-limiting illness in Tameside and Glossop. In 2016 CALLplus re-branded to Being There In 2014 CALLplus achieved PQASSO level 1 for the second time by external assessment. In 2014 CALLplus became 'Dementia Friendly'.
