Our clients are global, but with a common requirement to comply with EU/UK data protection laws, often for clinical trials and medical technologies. Our services include the provision of outsourced statutory and policy roles (Data Protection Officer, Caldicott Guardian, Clinical Safety Officer), EU and UK Representation (GDPR article 27), bespoke training, risk assessment and compliance framework support (DPIAs, DSPT, DTAC) and consultancy. Established in 2001, we are advocates of ethical use of health data, and see this as a central plank of the first data protection principle (lawful, fair and transparent). Data protection laws are not a barrier to doing the right thing right, but this sometimes requires a little effort to ensure the rights and freedoms of data subjects are respected, not least their human right to privacy and the protection of this right from interference by public bodies.
