With an ever-growing love for the music of the '60s, '70s and music by bands from the current indie-scene, AlascA makes authentic indie-folk in which melancholic melodies, poetic lyrics and close-harmony vocals play starring roles. The band's debut album Actors & Liars was released 17 February 2012 and was produced by Grammy-award winning engineer/producer Alan Branch (U2, Jeff Beck, Yusuf Islam, Blur, Nine Inch Nails). The album peaked #9 in the Dutch charts in the week after its release (and stayed in the top 50 the subsequent 6 weeks) and received much critical acclaim in the Netherlands and Belgium. AlascA's live performances are characterized by their shifts from small singer-songwriter songs to bombastic folk-rock explosions.
