Africa was called the "Dark Continent" by early European explorers as very little was "KNOWN" about Africa and its people. When we refer to ourselves as Children of The Dark Continent we are talking about an Africa unknown to the world. We are not making reference to the color of our skin —as our Africa is a mosaic of ethnic groups.
