The VIDC consists of three departments: VIDC Global Dialogue, kulturen in bewegung and fairplay. VIDC Global Dialogue (www.vidc.org/en) is a Think Tank which aims to reflect on international as well as Austrian and European realities, to present approaches to solidarity and to make civil society movements from the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa heard in Austria. Through discourses on democracy, human rights, gender and migration as well as international economic and financial policy, consolidated knowledge is provided and international knowledge networks established. relevant topics of Austrian development policies, Through the organisation of panel discussions, meetings and conferences, workshops and studies, relevant topics of Austrian development policies shall get more awareness. Kulturen in bewegung (www.kultureninbewegung.org/en), the art and cultural institution at the VIDC, realizes innovative intercultural projects and thereby promotes a diverse understanding of culture in Austria as well as differentiated perspectives on development policy and global contexts. Through intercultural dialogue and artistic exchange on an international level, kulturen in bewegung tries to contribute to the construction of a just and solidary global society. The fairplay Initiative (www.fair-play.info) facilitates dialogue and networking activities and supports emancipatory and participatory initiatives in sport. fairplay acts as an advisory body and center of competence with a focus on anti-discrimination, social inclusion, human rights and development. At national and European level fairplay organizes workshops, seminars, round tables, conferences and actions in stadiums.
