Montesa’s history goes back to 1945, when founders Pere Permanyer and Francisco X. Bultó teamed up and agreed to build our first motorcycle, the A-45.   The brand had a stable growth until 1968, when the Iconic Impala model was presented, and its success allowed Montesa to expand by entering into new markets and increasing the production capacity. By the beginning of the seventies, seeing Impalas on the modern Barcelona streets was a usual sight. However, challenged by a fierce competition, Montesa had to think outside the box and came up with the first ever Cota, the 247, as an off-road version of the successful Impala.   The eighties presented some difficult years for the national economy, which forced other brands to shut down. In 1986, an agreement between Honda and Montesa was settled. The modern era of the brand had started with the support and vision of the pioneer Japanese manufacturer.   77 Years later, Montesa-Honda has a track record of 73 World Trial Championship Titles and builds from the ground up a line-up of trial motorcycles based on the winning race machines. Since 2020, Montesa-Honda is also a proud manufacturer and distributor of Honda official accessories for the Honda motorcycle range.   All the success and history have only been possible by the passion for motorcycles of everyone involved in the project.
