Sullivan Environmental Consulting has conducted exposure assessment for toxic air pollutants over its past 29 years of operation. Our staff have managed urban air quality studies involving measured and modeled data evaluation in the following metropolitan areas: Philadelphia, Baltimore, the Kanawha Valley (Charleston, West Virginia), St. Louis, and Atlanta. Our two most senior staff members are Certified Consulting Meteorologists with over 40 years of experience each. Sullivan Environmental has conducted international studies for the U.S. EPA and AID in Poland, the Czech Republic, and the Russian Federation. These studies included extensive dispersion modeling and model performance evaluation. More recently, Sullivan Environmental was the contractor for the U.S. / Indonesian “Breathe Easy Jakarta” air quality study, contracting through the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, and working in conjunction with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. State Department. This project involved using the CALPUFF model to model the Jakarta metropolitan area, comparing the results to measured data, and designing a metropolitan-scale air qualitymonitoring network for this metropolitan area. Specific areas of expertise include the characterization of airborne and surface deposited heavy metals, pesticides, and other toxic constituents via the air deposition pathway, wind erosion analysis relative to airborne exposures and surface deposition, exposures assessment relative to pesticides, and other forms of specialized exposure assessments for toxic air pollutants. Our firm specializes in integrated air quality modeling / air quality monitoring analyses. We maintain extensive air quality and meteorological monitoring equipment and conduct many air quality field studies, including the conduct of over 50 major airborne flux studies of agricultural fumigants. In addition to air pollutant evaluations, our firm also conducts noise and odor studies.
