Health Engineering is a technology-based newly established company that emerges as a Spin Off of the University of Jaen in order to obtain in the short-term the CE marking as a biomarker for the early detection and monitoring of Multiple Sclerosis. This biomarker that we intend to turn in a diagnostic and monitoring standard is called FractalMed and would be the first commercial technology to determine the Fractal Dimension 3D applied to the diagnosis and monitoring of neurodegenerative diseases. Once obtained the CE marking a reference value for the early diagnosis and monitoring of the disease progression and the response to treatment will be stablished, enabling early interventions with consequent further reduction in the number of outbreaks and improved quality of life for patients. FractalMed has already done the proof of concept and clinical validation demonstrating in a cohort of patients that the Fractal Dimension can be applied as a criterion aid in early diagnosis and monitoring of Multiple Sclerosis.
