Asociación de Graduados de Universidades Británicas en Uruguay (GBUA por su siglas en inglés) y Red de Chevening Alumni en Uruguay. The Graduates from British Universities Association of Uruguay (GBUA), was created to promote the relationship between the two cultures: Uruguayan and British. We wanted to disseminate the experience and knowledge (Sapientia) acquired by our associates for the benefit (Munus) of our society with a strong feeling of gratitude (Gratia) for what we received as professionals and individuals in our experience of living and studying in the UK. These three reasons are the driving force behind our members and provide the rationale of our Motto: “Sapientia, Munus et Gratia”. It is worth noting that, even though the formal creation of an Association that gathered British alumni is quite recent, Uruguay has a long tradition of sending a selective group of professionals to study and live in the UK.
