Il Pozzo Dei Desideri was born with a goal as ambitious as it is simple: doing something concrete, useful and lasting for the people who live in the villages of Malawi. In a country like Malawi, there are many needs and most of these would require a structured and organized effort to ensure that initial efforts to solve a problem can produce long-term benefits. My choice fell on the construction of wells to extract one of the primary assets for humans: water. A gift that, if maintained, can last for tens of years. Since 2015, we built 38 wells that allow more than 22,000 people to drink clean water every day. The project was born and continues to live thanks exclusively to fundraising and word of mouth, through the web. I personally take care of the fundraising and every year I go to Malawi for the construction of the wells. For every well that I build, I also deal with ordinary and extraordinary maintenance to ensure that the initial effort lasts over time.
