Killeen Independent School District proudly serves the central Texas communities of Killeen, Fort Hood, Harker Heights, and Nolanville. Students within KISD attend 32 Elementary Schools (grades PK-5th), ten Middle Schools (grades 6-8), four High Schools (grades 9-12), Early College High School, two alternative schools, the KISD Career Center and several specialized campuses. The Killeen Independent School District employs a phenomenal team of approximately 7000 individuals dedicated to helping students attain success each and every day. The Killeen Independent School District recognizes the importance of responding to the needs of our students and families and we welcome feedback and suggestions, as we believe this is an important part of the continuous improvement process. Our mission at KISD is to teach so that students learn to their maximum potential. The vision is, through the implementation of a full, innovative, rigorous, comprehensive education program, KISD will provide superior learning opportunities so that upon graduation, students are prepared for success in the workforce and/or in higher education.
