CASE STUDY: The DNP Coach The PROBLEM: Lori is a highly educated nurse who had a dream to start her own business. She was working multiple different nursing jobs, but she felt like she had something significant to share with the world. She just wasn’t sure what it was. I asked Lori what she was good at doing and she gave me a huge list of talents and interests! I said to Lori “You are amazing, you have a lot to give and you can do so much. BUT – you have to make a decision. And the answer can be found by responding honestly to the following 3 questions: What do you do? What do you love? And what do you want? Lori could find the answer to the best way to utilize her skills by figuring out her passion. She needed to make a choice and not choosing, was also a decision – to maintain status quo. Lori’s problem is common and prevents many nurses from moving forward. The SOLUTION: After working with Lori for a couple months, she finally decided to get out of her own way and giver herself permission to shine and succeed. She discovered her passion was helping nurses to become better writers. We refined her niche and positioned her as the DNP Coach. She now empowers DNP students to from frustrated to finished. Lori recently gave up one of her many jobs so she could devote more time and focus to thrive in her new profitable business.
