As the housing development arm of the ARDN, we focus on creating a poverty free society, in which everyone has access to affordable & safe housing. We believe everyone deserves a place to call home and we want to help see that happen. The Sustainable Housing Initiative (SHI) was created through the Alberta Rural Development Network and specializes in helping communities build affordable housing. We not only aim to create housing that is affordable, but our goal is to also create a space that enhances the lives of the occupants that live within by leveraging unique design principles and through the utilization of specific construction materials.
