SCOUT FILM FESTIVAL
www.scoutfilmfestival.orgWelcome to Scout Film Festival (Scout)—a 501c3 non-profit organization that produces an annual international event celebrating emerging filmmakers, aged 24 and under, through short films. Our mission is to celebrate filmmakers worldwide aged 24 and under, and connect them with larger audiences by showcasing a curated collection of their best short films during a 3-day Festival. Our team works to encourage creative thinking, connect emerging filmmakers with peers and industry professionals, and engage young filmmakers in taking action through film. Founded by Anna Colavito and cofounder Adriana Teresa Letorney with the shared belief in building a platform that fosters a more equitable, inclusive, and community-focused film industry, Scout exists to amplify emerging voices, help build connections that lead to collaborations, provide educational opportunities, and a pathway to an industry which better reflects the world we live in. Scout is a global home for young filmmakers to connect, share work, and further their careers. With an international community of filmmakers, industry professionals, and partner organizations, Scout serves to empower the film industry by identifying, celebrating, and supporting its future leaders. Over 7000 filmmakers aged 24 and under from 109 countries have submitted their films. Scout offers a Career Development Program that provides access to grants, workshops, seminars, and mentorship opportunities—in partnership with other organizations. Scout’s flagship opportunity is The Emerging Filmmakers Grant, sponsored by American director and screenwriter, Colin Trevorrow known for directing the indie film Safety Not Guaranteed, and co-writing and directing the blockbuster film series Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and the third chapter, Jurassic World: Dominion set for release June 10, 2022.
