The Master of Public Health (MPH) Program is designed to fill a novel niche at the intersection of leadership, sustainability and policy within the Canadian Health Care System as well as more globally. The MPH Program is a 12 month program employing the case method of learning and experiential learning opportunities. The MPH Program is an applicant for accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health. A unique aspect of this program is that students will start as a cohort, where together they will learn about public health. Students will benefit from a small class where everyone will know each other’s name and a kinship environment will be fostered. The inaugural class began on September 1, 2013. The MPH Program is an interdisciplinary, interfaculty program with the support of the following Faculties: Education, Engineering, Information & Media Studies, Health Sciences, Law, Science, Social Science, Ivey School of Business and Brescia University College. The program will prepare students to address main public health challenges in Canada and abroad, thus opening avenues and opportunities for the students to serve not just in their local communities, but also contribute and lead in national and global public health initiatives as the change agents.
