It represents the government of Brazil in the Republic of Singapore and maintains permanent communication with local authorities, government officials and the private sector, with a view to strengthening political, business and friendship ties between the two nations. The Consular Section of the Embassy provides documents and assistance to Brazilian citizens who are visiting or residing in Singapore and offers visas and document-legalisation services to foreigners travelling to or dealing with Brazil. The Economic and Trade Section of the Embassy is in charge of fostering bilateral economic relations, mainly through the creation of trade and investment opportunities for Brazilian and Singaporean companies. It also aims at promoting tourism in Brazil. Although Brazil and Singapore are geographically distant, there is growing mutual interest, to which bear witness the many cultural expressions of Brazil in Singapore. The Embassy’s activities spread into many other areas of bilateral cooperation, such as education, science and technology, and sports.
