We are a private company, incorporated in Kenya in 2005. The company was formed with an objective of engaging in property development activities in line with the growing demand for suitable housing units. The company’s focus is geared towards an untapped property market that is in need of affordable housing units, using an alternative building technology.We are introducing a new and better method of building walls using interlocking Cellular concrete blocksalima-bloxas an alternative to the conventional method of construction which uses brick and mortar. Cellular concrete building blocks are new to the local construction market but have been widely used in more developed economies to great success. In comparison to the conventional methods, the lightweight concrete technology has the following advantages: 1) The structures attain a lower density with reduced dead loads resulting into huge savings on the structural foundation; 2) The concept saves time and money by utilizing mortar-less interlocking blocks that are produced using locally available materials; 3) There is a substantial saving as this method eliminates wall plastering; 4) The concept promotes the use of green building technology that is environmentally friendly; 5) The structure is fire resistant with high thermal insulation and good sound reduction properties; 6) The concrete has a high compressive strength that is fire proof, with great resistance to earthquakes, moisture and water absorption; 7) Ultimately, the concept will allow for faster construction and thereby create employment by utilizing unskilled labour. The use of the Cellular concrete building blocks on the partitions and column infill’s on the high rise commercial buildings, which is widely used in more developed countries, has been proven to yield great economic gains, both on time and overall cost savings
