www.biopria.com.auThe Bioresource Processing Research Institute of Australia (BioPRIA) is an institute engaged in creating new industries and transforming established ones through education and research. Located within the Department of Chemical Engineering at Monash University, BioPRIA is the offspring of the Australian Pulp and Paper Institute (APPI), which was established in 1989. BioPRIA aims to foster the migration of the Australian pulp and paper industry into bio-refineries and producers of high value products. The Institute has three research platforms, which bring together capabilities and expertise in Bio-interfaces and diagnostics; Cellulose nanomaterials and composites; and Bio-refinery and green processes. The platforms are supported by a partnership with Industry, ARC and Monash University. With strong network of collaborators and partner organisations, BioPRIA has access to the cutting-edge technology that enable our researchers to conduct scientific research and innovation. At BioPRIA, we work with multidisciplinary teams on transdisciplinary projects and resolve challenges. BioPRIA also offers a range of educational opportunities including Master of Bioproduct Manufacturing Engineering, Short Courses and Workshops for people that has interest in the field of bioresource processing and sustainability.
