The Canadian Association of Consulting Energy Advisors exists to meet the need to establish and promote credibility of new home and existing home Energy Advisors across Canada, to educate its members, to leverage opportunities and to help Homeowners, Builders, Developers, Trades, Municipalities, Real Estate professionals, and other stakeholders better understand our industry. To help promote sustainable building practices and facilitate Canadian Home Labeling Programs and other applications, such as; • R-2000® • EnerGuide ® • ENERGY STAR for New Homes® • Net Zero Homes® • Built Green Canada® • BC Provincial Step Code • Energy Modeling for Code Compliance EAs are experts in home energy efficiency and Building Science. They're registered by Natural Resources Canada to deliver the EnerGuide Rating System for new homes and existing homes (they may be licensed for both programs). They are trained to use NRCan's (Natural Resources Canada) energy simulation software HOT2000 and to perform blower door air leakage testing. Registered Energy Advisors use their expertise in combination with energy modelling software to help home owners, and building professionals, make better informed decisions when choosing energy upgrades before building a new house or starting extensive renovations on an existing home.
