Auckland Kindergarten Association
www.aka.org.nzEstablished in 1908, the Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) is a not-for-profit charitable trust made up of 107 kindergartens and 4 KiNZ early learning centres, and 5 Playgroups located throughout the greater Auckland region. At the AKA, we provide safe and enriching learning environments where children can develop as confident and competent learners. Our kindergartens and centres offer quality early childhood education (ECE) that is inclusive of the diversity of children, parents and whānau that attend. We believe that children learn and develop best when they are nurtured and extended by teachers who are responsive and who share with the child an understanding of the world. We value the importance of children’s play in developing meaningful learning experiences. Our kindergartens and centres have beautiful, natural gardens and outdoor spaces where children can play and express themselves. Our teachers are qualified and registered, and teaching practice reflects current theories of learning and development. Our high quality learning programmes are based on Te Whāriki (New Zealand’s national early childhood curriculum). For more information, please contact us on 0800 4 KINDY or email [email protected].
