The UTS Electrical Society is an electrical engineering society of the University of Technology Sydney. Conceived in 2019 to tackle a distinct lack of engineering student societies with weekly events and hands-on projects, UTS ESOC strives to create a conducive environment where electrical engineering students and like-minded individuals can build a rapport. This is primarily achieved through the weekly Social Soldering event where all members of the society come together in an informal social setting to engage in discussions and work on electrical components. The society also provides an opportunity for learning in its weekly Social Soldering events by discussing microcontrollers like Arduinos and their related projects. Additionally, the behavior and analysis of passive and active components, as well as transistors and logic gates, are also discussed through the use of electrical test equipment. The UTS Electrical Society hopes to serve as an avenue for networking and the development of skill and knowledge in electronics through teamwork, respect and inclusivity
