Vera Productions

www.vera.co.uk

Vera Productions was set up in 1994. Its brief was simple; to make challenging, innovative TV Programmes that would be fun to make and fun to watch. Since then the company has made around twenty TV Shows a year that fulfil that brief in different ways and have picked up critical reviews and awards; including four BAFTAS, British Comedy Awards, RTS awards, Broadcasting Press Guilds, AIB Awards, Writers Guild and South Bank Show gongs. Alongside the long running TV Series ‘Bremner Bird and Fortune’ and two recent Rory Bremner specials, the company has produced three series of the award-winning ‘Getting On’ for BBC Four, four series of ‘Alistair McGowan’s Big Impression’ for BBC1, six series of ‘Mark Thomas Product’ for C4 and a variety of one-offs. In addition to numerous ‘Dispatches’ for Channel 4, including the recent ‘President Trump’s Dirty Secrets’, ‘Politician’s for Hire’ and award winning ‘How to Buy A Football Club’, Vera has produced several pieces for Channel 4 news and created ‘Big Trouble in Thailand’ for Bravo. Most recently, Vera has produced ‘Million Pound Jewellers’ for Channel 4 Arts, and delivered 3 episodes of ‘Going Forward’ (Starring Jo Brand and Omid Djalili) to BBC Four . A fully independent production company and led by the talent and shows it makes, its original remit stands as true to today as it was when the company was established 21 years ago.
