The Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council is a leading resource for minority business development serving corporations and public agencies in the Pacific Northwest and Mountain regions. Our mission is to foster an environment that creates opportunity and builds economic value. WHO WE ARE: We are a 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 1978 to aid the growth and development of minority-owned business by facilitating the purchase of goods and services from certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs). We are an affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) serving the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. WHAT WE DO: We promote and support the adoption and implementation of effective minority business development programs by private and public sectors and majority business community; and facilitate the growth and expansion of minority owned business through education, engagement and advocacy. MBE SERVICES: We process MBE certification through the NMSDC and validate MBE minority status, qualifications and capabilities. We develop MBEs to effectively integrate them into corporate and public agency member supply chains thereby driving business and economic development. We provide access to executive education, training and development. We offer formal and informal venues for suppliers to meet with corporate/public agency buyers and decision makers, learn about state and local contracts, and leverage the value of a diverse network. MEMBER SERVICES: We collaborate with firms and organizations that represent the largest publicly- and privately-owned companies. We support purchasing activities that impact local and global markets. We help develop and promote supplier diversity, development and advocacy. SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Every year, the Northwest Mountain MSDC awards over $25,000 in scholarship dollars to MBEs, primarily as a result of donations received at events and fundraisers. Over the last 9 years, the Council has provided over $230,000 in minority business scholarships. We grant educational scholarship to minority executive education programs at the University of Washington's Foster School of Business and Tuck Business School at Dartmouth College.
