SASS operates in the field of higher education in Slovenia joining both educational and research missions. SASS holds the ECHE charter for 2014-2020 and is included in Ceepus programme. The institution has passed the IEP/EUA evaluation. The education is shaped within the following courses from the field of social sciences: 1st Cycle: BSc in Social Management BA in Social Management and BA in Psychosocial Support. 2nd Cycle: MA in Intercultural Management and MA in Psychosocial Counselling, 3rd Cycle: Ph.D. in Sociology. The main research topics of the institution are shaped within its four research centers and encompass the topics of Along with sociology, political sciences, cultural studies and communication studies there are also aspects of the economy, entrepreneurship, geography, history, anthropology, etc. included into research work of the school. There is also a strong emphasis on research methodology especially in promoting phenomenological paradigm along with mixed-method research. SASS in its research work exceeds the fragmentation within the disciplines, between the disciplines but also between wider disciplinarian areas.
