Ethiopians believes that food is sacred and healing and thus must be prepared with outmost care and respect. Tradition has it, one must eat with the right hand, must not be interrupted while eating, must be seated until the food tray is taken away, must wash hands before and after meals and must praise god before a meal. The Ethiopian kitchen is also mindful of religious rules in preparing meats and that food must always be shared with the less fortunate. Brundo provides the most authentic spices and herbs as well as prepared food such as seasoned clarified butter, dried injera and meats. We have also carefully compiled various recipes. Legend has it that Nigist Saba of Ethiopia (the Queen of Sheba) enticed King Solomon of Israel by bringing gifts of tantalizing secret spices and incense during her famous visit to Israel.
