The Western & Southern Open will be held August 12-20, 2023, at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. Nearly 200,000 fans attend this week-long event that is seen by a global audience of more than 62 million. The tournament is one of the prestigious ATP Masters 1000 events on the men’s tour and a Premier 5 event for the WTA – making it one of only five tour events in the world with events of that caliber occurring during the same week at the same venue. The defending champions are Novak Djokovic and Kiki Bertens. Broadcast domestically on Tennis Channel and ESPN, the tournament is one of the last stops on the US Open Series prior to the US Open. It is the nation’s oldest professional tennis tournament still held in its original city, having first been played in 1899 at the Avondale Athletic Club (present-day Xavier University). Since 1974, the tournament has contributed more than $10.9 million to its beneficiaries: Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the Barrett Cancer Center and Tennis for City Youth.
