Oulu Business School (OBS) is an AACSB Accredited international research and educational institute, and one of eight faculties within the University of Oulu - one of the largest multidisciplinary universities in Finland. Our mission is to generate business competencies in cooperation with the scientific community, business partners and the larger society. We strive to develop expertise, and foster the development of leadership qualities in our students. Through our actions and global mindset, we participate in the development of the economy, especially in Northern Finland. OBS is accredited by AACSB International, the premier accreditation body for business schools worldwide. In order to achieve accreditation, a school must fulfill rigorous quality criteria that focus on different aspects: strategic management, the quality of the school's faculty, students and processes, and the level of education programmes and student learning. Only some 5 % of the world's business schools have earned AACSB Accreditation. There are currently over 1500 students and 120 faculty and staff members in Oulu Business School. With five specialised international Master's Degree programmes, we have become the most significant provider of English taught education in the university. In spring 2008, President and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Martti Ahtisaari opened an international research and education institute – the Martti Ahtisaari Institute of Global Business and Economics – in the business school. One important goal of the Institute is to support the internationalisation of OBS.
