Global Institute of Healthcare Quality (GIHQ) has been established to support and enhance healthcare quality improvement in Pakistan, and subsequently in the South-East Asia and Middle East regions. Currently, it has offices in Pakistan and State of Massachusetts, Boston, USA In last three decades, the healthcare industry in high income countries has developed advanced healthcare quality improvement systems with rewarding results. Pakistan is also following the footsteps. Provincial governments in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have already established Healthcare Commissions, aimed at regulating the healthcare establishments (HCE) for quality enhancement and ensuring patient safety. (JCI, ISO, MSDS, etc.) Support the healthcare entities by advising corrective actions and implementing practical solutions for improving and maintaining quality and patient safety, utilizing the state of the art evidence-based practices, and the accredited standards of the healthcare commissions. Conduct training courses, workshops and on-site coaching sessions for establishing a pool of quality experts for improving healthcare quality in Pakistan. Develop policies using process improvement tools thus ensuring sustainability of quality improvement achievements. Create awareness and educate patients and the public regarding healthcare processes and quality expectations.
