Anne has extensive experience interpreting quantitative survey data and facilitating groups of individuals to elicit feedback and context regarding their work environments to inform safety initiatives. She has served as the Director of Patient Safety at both tertiary (Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center) and community hospitals (Greater Baltimore Medical Center), where she was responsible for the oversight of the patient safety program, including adverse event reporting, regulatory accreditation, the culture and engagement survey, and the peer review and grievance resolution processes for both acute care and ambulatory practices. As a consultant, she has worked with facilities ranging from academic medical centers to critical access hospitals, providing interpretation of their safety culture survey results, leading focus groups and guiding improvement in their culture and teamwork. Through her work as both a patient safety officer and as a consultant, she provides guidance across a broad range of culture and patient safety topics. Anne understands the intersection of culture and teamwork, what a high-performing work setting looks like, and how to achieve that. She has first-authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on a variety of patient safety topics.
