Global Education Derby is a registered charity, established since 1991, aiming to support teachers, youth workers, and other educators increase awareness, knowledge and understanding of global issues and how these impact on our lives. From music and fashion to poverty and terrorism, young people's lives are intimately connected to the complex and fast-changing world around them. This offers both exciting opportunities and difficult challenges to those who work with young people both in and out of school. Education programmes have to reflect the new global realities if they are to remain relevant, but it isn't always clear to teachers and youth workers how to do this. We provide much needed support for education practitioners in both formal education and the youth and community sector.
