The Batavierenrace is the largest relay race in the world and the largest student event of the Netherlands. It is a race over 175 km from Nijmegen to Enschede, divided into 25 stages. More than 350 teams (which means more than 8,500 students) participate in this race. Afterwards, the biggest student party of the Benelux takes place on the campus of the University of Twente, with over 13,000 participants, volunteers and visitors. Last year the Batavierenrace had over 500 International participants. This year we hope to welcome more international teams to the Batavierenrace, so that this race can grow to become a large international event with many multicultural participants. This year we will also be focussing on corporate social responsibility and try to reduce our ecological footprint.
