The long-term solution to improving customer experience of transferring between companies and to manage good practice framework. Delivered by Criterion and TeX The Transfers and Re-registration Industry Group (TRIG), a collaboration of 10 Industry trade bodies and representatives of individual firms, has been working to deliver a cross-industry solution to the challenge of improving customer experiences of moving money from one financial institution to another. The initiative has support from the Pensions Minister, across the industry and the Government is keeping a close eye on it. In July 2018, the FCA highlighted the issue of transfers and re-registration in its market studies into the Asset Management Industry and into Investment Platforms. TRIG endorses and recommends the joint venture, named STAR, to manage good practice framework. STAR is a long-term solution to improving the customer experience of transferring between companies - delivered by Criterion and TeX, combining industry-reach, unique strengths and experience. TRIG encourages member firms in their respective associations to sign up to the Framework. There are big benefits for participants: • A public demonstration of commitment to smoother transfers and re-registrations; • Improvements in transfer efficiency, reducing processing costs and improving cashflow; • Improved outcomes for consumers - a more consistent, transparent and reliable transfer experience. STAR will: • Bring together the long-term savings Industry to deliver improvements in transfer performance; • Define the processes covered by the framework; • Specify good practice targets from those processes; • Measure performance against Industry targets.
