SIW Corporation
www.siw.comSIW Corp. develops Tex, a fully automatic all-hexahedral meshing engine particularly suited for the non-linear analysis of complex engineering applications where shape feature extreme length scale variations such as light and thin aero and space structures, electronic components, mobile devices, MEMS, fluidic devices, and shapes with locally high aspect-ratios such as those typical in additive manufacturing infills, auxetic materials, welding, and automated shape optimization. Tex meshes are compatible with all commercial CAD, FEM, CFD and PLM software. TEX uses Mid-object Extraction and Extrusion at Saddle points (MEES) to decompose any complex geometry into compatible extrudable mesh blocks in such a way that mesh resolution spanwise and across the object can be adjusted independently. The result is a quality all-hexahedral mesh with element counts typically 10 to 100 times less than equivalent tetrahedral meshes and faster convergence to a more accurate solution. Features of tex • TEX builds block-structured hexahedral meshes. • Ideal for the non-linear analysis of 3D objects featuring thin regions. • Option for all-hexahedral or mixed hex/prism/tetra elements. • Mesh density spanwise and across thin parts can be prescribed independently • Compatible with most PLM, CAD, and FEA systems. • Requires only a closed triangulated surface. All examples have been produced with nothing more than the triangulated surface mesh as input. • Available as a node-locked & timed Windows X64 executable. Benefits of tex • TEX's command line style makes implementation in any commercial CAD, PLM & FEM/CFD modeler immediate. • Builds high-quality hex meshes that produce more accurate results faster and cheaper. • Produces the ideal mesh for both linear and non-linear (plasticity, failure, CFD, etc.) analyses. • Robust & symmetry-conserving. • Element layering is intuitive and conformal to object boundaries. • Can be easily integrated into existing CAE and CAD systems.
