Foster an exploration of the American experience through the stories of Waukesha County. Since 1906 the historic society has encouraged the research, preservation, and education of our shared community history. With a focus on Waukesha, County the organization reaches thousands of individually annually through the museum, research center & archive, and education center programs. The Museum features the LES PAUL WIZARD OF WAUKESHA exhibit, dedicated to the life and legacy of native son & music visionary Les Paul - inventor of the Gibson solid body electric guitar. Also featuring MAKING FACES: PORTRAITS BY JOHN KASTCH, a nationally touring exhibition of work by another Waukesha native son. John's work has appeared in countless publications, and the exhibition represents a careers worth of caricature work.
