Africa Leads is a 501 (c) 3 currently operating in Senegal with a mission to empower Africa’s underprivileged youth through vocational education and skill training. We combine our model education project and our social enterprise in land and animal farming to provide adolescents whose families cannot afford school with the academic education necessary to improve their numeracy and literacy skills, alongside vocational training to develop their talents and interests. In Africa, only about 2 to 6 percent of educational budgets are devoted to technical and vocational skill development with only 2 percent of the continent’s youth enrolled in vocational training programs. Our goal is to target African communities with a significant number of youth facing educational challenges to help them build viable and necessary skills for their economic security and social empowerment.
